Geoff is well known around the show circuit and has no less than 10 grand champions to his credit as well as winners in adult, mature and baby classes with fish supplied by various UK dealers.

In 1999,Geoff decided to travel to Japan independently to select and purchase koi for himself as he felt this was the only way to obtain fish of the quality he required. His aim was to source relatively small to medium numbers of high grade koi and offer them for sale to hobbyists at affordable prices as well as to fulfil his own requirements.

Geoff uses the experience he has gained over many years and believes he has an eye for koi, that in his opinion, have all the attributes to develop and improve to become potential show winners. Specifically, body shape, skin quality and bloodlines, as well as colour and pattern are all taken into account when fish are being hand selected for return to the UK.

Visits have been made to some of Japans top breeders, as well as some lesser known ones, in both Nigata and other recognised koi producing areas to include Marata, Muruyama, Oofuchi, Seki, Marudo, Sakai (Isawa), Shinoda, Sakuma, Hosaki and Yamazaki to name just a few. This has seen the importation of high grade tosai and nisai together with specific examples of go sanke koi in sansai, yonsai and gosai.

All fish on arriving into the UK have a strict quarantine period, prior to sale of two months as an absolute minimum where all fish have time to settle down after the stresses involved in shipment and where any potential health problems have a chance to show themselves and can therefore be treated accordingly. Whilst the fish can be viewed and purchased within this time frame they cannot leave the premises until Geoff is confident they are ready to do so.
